Select the flute shape, cutting-edge angle, and cutting length according to the required depth, chip flow, and surface finish.
Machine rigidity, spindle power, collet condition, tool runout, feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut must be considered together. A suitable coating can reduce friction and wear, but correct parameters and secure tool holding remain essential. Test a conservative setup first, inspect chips and surface quality, and adjust one parameter at a time.
