Right Angle Milling Head

Right-angle milling heads are also called transverse milling heads or horizontal milling heads, which refer to milling heads whose tool output shaft is parallel to the horizontal plane.
The right-angle milling head can realize the vertical-horizontal conversion of the vertical machining center, which is used for the side machining of the workpiece, which reduces the number of clamping times of the workpiece and greatly improves the machining accuracy.

What is the difference between left-handed and right-handed cutting and right-handed and right-handed cutting of milling cutters

It can be seen from the mode of action of the thread that when the thread is rotated, if it is not forced to “screw in”, the “in” will be the nut. Compared with the milling cutter, it is the chips cut off during milling. It can be seen that when the rotation direction of the milling cutter remains unchanged, the chip removal direction of the left and right rotary milling cutter is also different.

Because in milling, the rotation direction of the left-hand milling cutter must be the same as that of the right-hand milling cutter, in order to change the chip removal direction. Therefore, for the left-handed milling cutter with the purpose of changing the chip removal direction, the cutting edge direction must also be the same as that of the right-handed milling cutter, that is, “right cutting”.

There are four types of coated knives

Coated high-speed steel tools, coated carbide tools, and coated tools on ceramic and superhard materials (diamond or cubic boron nitride) blades. But the former two kinds of coated tools are the most used. The coating on the ceramic and superhard material blades is a material with a lower hardness than the substrate. The purpose is to improve the fracture toughness of the blade surface (which can be increased by more than 10%), which can reduce the chipping and breakage of the blade and expand the scope of application.
