Graphtec plotter blades should be selected from a documented blade and holder combination, rather than the machine brand alone. A familiar name in a catalogue does not establish that every listed replacement fits every machine. For a purchasing team, the useful starting point is a traceable identification of the tool already installed and the replacement being offered.

Separate catalogue families from machine compatibility

The JEEFOO® catalogue lists 09U and 15U blade families separately. Treat these labels as different starting points for an enquiry. Do not merge them into a single stock description such as “Graphtec knife.” A category tells you where to look; the exact item, holder requirements and equipment documentation determine whether a candidate should proceed to evaluation. Keep the supplier’s wording alongside your own internal stock code.

Build an identification record from the working assembly

Photograph the existing blade packaging, any readable reference and the holder identification. Include the machine model and the holder actually fitted, especially if it has been replaced since the machine was purchased. A photograph of the cutting tip alone leaves important questions unanswered. If measurements are needed, use the documented inspection method and suitable instruments; avoid estimating dimensions from a catalogue photograph or placing fingers against the edge.

Ask the supplier to resolve differences explicitly

Send the identification record with the candidate product link. Ask which supplied reference corresponds to it and what supporting information establishes the match. Resolve discrepancies in the family name, physical interface or packaging before approving an order. If original-equipment status is a purchasing requirement, request separate evidence of that status. A replacement listed for a named brand is not automatically an original part or proof of an authorized relationship.

Agree on acceptance before buying stock

Define what the evaluation must demonstrate on your actual work: secure installation, appropriate movement within the holder, complete intended cuts and acceptable separation of waste. Compare results using a representative design and the same material, following the equipment instructions. Keep the candidate stock separate until accepted. A successful sample supports that tested combination; it does not justify extending approval to different holders or machines without checking them.

A clear blade-family record makes a repeat order easier to verify. Shortlist the relevant JEEFOO® category, settle the identification questions, and approve stock only after the proposed replacement meets your documented acceptance criteria.
