The Mimaki engraving knife is a drag-type eccentric tool specifically designed for Mimaki engraving and cutting machines. It achieves precise film cutting through eccentric blade angles, carbide material, and segmented geometric structures. The knife body features a standard 1.5mm cylindrical handle, compatible with the original factory mounting, ensuring fixed concentricity to prevent uneven cutting depths. The blade head is made of 89%-90% tungsten carbide hard alloy, integrated in one piece, combining high hardness with toughness to reduce gum adhesion and blade chipping. It is suitable for flexible materials such as adhesive films, reflective films, and thermal transfer films.
The core is a standardized eccentric cutting structure with a fixed 0.25mm eccentric offset. During cutting, the tool tip rotates with the blade head, achieving bidirectional film shearing. The tool automatically turns at corners, ensuring clean lines without burrs or film tearing. It features three cone angles: 30° for a fine blade tip, ideal for precise small-character cutting; 45° for a balanced, versatile option that combines sharpness and wear resistance; and 60° for a wide blade surface, suitable for cutting thick films in large areas.
The exposed length of the blade tip is adjustable, enabling semi-cutting processes when paired with a lettering machine’s pressure—only the surface film is severed without damaging the base paper. The entire structure is seamless, with precision-polished edges that reduce cutting resistance, ensuring stable batch processing while balancing accuracy, durability, and equipment compatibility.
